I became pregnant at the very beginning of my journey at IUPUI. I remember finishing up some finals in the hospital after I had given birth to my beautiful daughter.
Unfortunately, and without any warning, I would become a single mom two years later. I remember having a hard time with this transition and wondered if I should quit school. I spoke with my professors, and they were all very supportive of me. Some even told me to bring my daughter to class if I needed to!
I was so overwhelmed with gratitude for the love and support that IUPUI showed to me that I continued on with my education. Since then, I have become a BSW Child Welfare Scholar, and I am now a MSW Child Welfare Trauma Fellowship recipient and will be graduating with my MSW in May of 2019.
