In 1976, I was a junior in the School of Nursing BSN program and living in Ball Residence Hall. I had been fortunate enough to spend two years on the Bloomington campus and attend many sporting events, including IU football and basketball games.
In March of 1976, the IU men's basketball team played Michigan for the national championship. Many of the nursing students gathered around multiple TVs in various rooms in Ball Residence Hall. When IU won, you could hear yelling everywhere and students gathered in halls to celebrate the huge win! Several of the students decided to drive to Bloomington to be part of the campus celebration. I had clinical the next day and decided to stay in Indy. It was a wonderful memory that I have always cherished!
