When I was finishing up my Biology BS degree here at IUPUI back in 2001, I had the opportunity to work as a mentor.
I was hired by Mark Minglin of the Bepko Learning Center and was paired with another student to mentor for biology K101. It was a great experience! Mark even hired me to work over the summer to help coordinate mentoring materials for the course.
Flash forward to 2018 — I am now the assistant director for the academic mentoring program at the Bepko Learning Center! I now supervise the biology K101 mentors. Having been a mentor myself, I can really understand some of the current mentors' challenges.
